General
- A Business Improvement District or BID is an arrangement under which businesses plan and agree how to improve their trading environment by identifying projects that will add value to their business and that they are prepared to fund.
- These funds collected are ring-fenced and used only to deliver the pre agreed projects.
Funding for Wellingborough
Wellingborough BID is funded by businesses within the BID area contributing annually a 2% levy on their rateable value.
The levy will be mandatory on all businesses within the BID area, except those that are exempt.
The BID will bring an excess of £500,000 of investment into the town centre, over the three year period.
The Management
- The BID will be run by the Wellingborough BID Board, comprising of volunteers from organisations that pay the levy, including both large and small businesses.
- The board will be responsible for the delivery of projects ensuring that they are delivered on time and on budget to the highest standards possible.
